AGES 13-16
Scene Study for Film & TV
Anastasia Barnes

An ON-CAMERA class for 13-16 year olds with emphasis placed on developing listening, interacting and reacting skills by working with scene partners, and participating in theater games as a group. Students will discover creativity and how big their imaginations really are! The goal here is to develop a strong foundation to become a confident and skilled on-camera actor. The first thing to remember is that you must forget. This is called rehearsed spontaneity. The camera sees everything, especially the LACK of spontaneity. This technique is very specific to film and television. The more unaware you are, the more spontaneous you will be. You will also learn why an actor should never pick "the best way" to act in the scene. He or she should have various approaches and trust them all!

"The camera sees everything, especially the LACK of spontaneity." -- Michael Caine
